ChipSheep's nail polish dupes alert !!!

Hey, this is Chip, everyone loves dupes; so today I am going to tell you some of the nail polish dupes that Sheep and I had found.

Sally Hansen's nail polishes were on sale in Walgreens so I decided to picked two nail polishes for my friend in Hong Kong and found out that one of the Sally Hansen's nail polishes (pat on the black)was almost an exact dupe of Essie's carry on nail polish!

Don't get fooled by the color in the bottle!!

They looked different in the bottle but they look almost exactly the same on your nails (as you can see from the photo)!!

The new Nars nail polish collection from Pierre Hardy is so pretty that I went to Sephora immediately after I knew it was launched. I love the coral color from the Vertebra pair in the Pierre Hardy's collection but it was like $29 and.........well, I have to think about it.

Sheep tried it on in Sephora and see if we can find a dupe of the Nars nail polish from what we have already.

We found that Sally Hansen's peachy breeze was a dupe!! It looks completely different in the bottle, the Nars one looked more orange when compared to the Sally Hansen one which was more pink but again, it looks similar on the nails.

Unless you really want the EXACT dupe of it, you might as well give it a try for Sally Hansen's nail polish which is a much much cheaper option.

Cheers,

Chip

Chip's most frequently used eyeshadows (suitable for everyday look)

Hey, this is Chip. :) Today I will be talking about my most frequently used eyeshadows which are suitable for an everyday look. The products are affordable and the quality is really promising as well. It is not a "must" to wear eyeshadow, but applying a suitable amount of eyeshadows can complement your final look.
Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal- Barely Branded (Top)

Wet n Wild (eyeshadow trio) -Walking on eggshells (Bottom)

It can be frustrating sometimes to think about what eyeshadow should I wear today and might pick the wrong color and ended up looking funny; but we all know that you can never go wrong with natural, earth tone eyeshadows. I bought the Wet n Wild eyeshadows in Walgreens while its on sale and it costs like $2.00-ish (excluding tax) and the Maybelline color tattoo costs $6.99.

The Wet n Wild eyeshadows were claimed to be the dupe of Mac's eyeshadows (phloof, naked lunch and cork) by other well-known make up gurus online; therefore, you are actually paying much much less to get a similar color of the mac eyeshadows!! :)

Wet n Wild-walking on eggshells (swatches)
The lightest color looks pretty in the inner corner of the eyes and on the eyelids. It looks too light and too shimmery when applying it on my brow bone though, it might work for people who has a lighter complexion. Do tell me if it works for you :)

When applying the lightest color on my eyelids, I usually apply barely branded from Maybelline as a base to avoid fall-outs and to make the color appears more vividly.

I would apply my urban decay primer potion on my crease up to the browbone area before applying the brown color in my crease and blend out the hard edges with a blending brush.

The brown color in the eyeshadow can also be used to blend out brown eyeliners, resulting a beautiful ombre effect on your eyes. You can finish the look by applying a thin black eyeliner near your upper lash line after blending the brown eyeliners and eyeshadows.

When using the pinkish, salmon color on my eyelids, I would either apply my Benefit Bikini-tini Creaseless Cream Shadow or urban decay primer potion before applying the wet n wild eyeshadow on my eyelids.

Do follow us and stay tune for Chip Sheep's update :)

Chip

Chip's Spring and Summer nail polish favorites

Hey, this is Chip here :)I'd like to share some of my recent favorite nail polishes for this Spring and Summer.  Spring and Summer are seasons that allow us to play with some bright and fun colors ; instead of just applying neutral and safe colors such as brown, grey or earth tone colors, give it a try by accenting it with just a hint of orange or bright coral/pink color, you might be surprise by the outcome. ;)

(Left to right)Sally Hansen Insta Dri- Peachy Breeze, Sally Hansen Xtreme wear-Mint Sorbet,
Laka-118, Laka-39, Laka-113, Laka 104

Well, although I have a lot of Laka nail polishes , I have to be honest that they are too pricey for a full time student like me. The good thing is its really opaque, you can get the color in the bottle on your nails by applying one coat only. The brush is short and flat which makes it easier to control when applying. Its not a common brand here, I can't really find them in San Francisco, I purchased them in Hong Kong.

(Left to right) Laka-39, Laka 118

(Left to right) Laka 113, Sally Hansen Insta Dri- Peachy Breeze (very cheap price )

You can just get any bright orange and greyish color from cheaper brands such as OPI , Revlon, Sally Hansan or others.

Sometimes I feel like it might be too much to apply bright colors on all my nails, I might want to tune it down sometimes when I am not in a bright color mood. But its SUMMER! I want to play with some fun colors. So what I do is applying neutral colors such as brown or grey on four fingers and apply bright orange or bright coral pink on my ring finger or index finger only.

I got compliments wearing it like that , try it out, you might like it (okay, maybe not, maybe its just me? haha).Anyway, its just an alternative, you can always apply it in the way you want.

Sally Hansen Xtreme wear- Mint Sorbet , Laka 104

I love wearing minty green during spring and summer, I always wanted a real mint green but I get disappointed for not being able to find the right shade. They are either a bit too blue for a mint green or it looked too sheer that requires four to five coats to get the right shade. I am happy to found Sally Hansen's Mint Sorbet in Target, its cheap, the color looks exactly the way I wanted it. Too bad I am not sponsored, looks like it'll make a good ad ( just kidding) Anyway, I love it after trying it on my nails.

Laka 104 is one of my all time favorite spring/summer colors for my toes. Its a bright, turquoise color that looks absolutely stunning on your toes (Sheep agrees as well, she has one too lol).

Since Sheep and I just started the blog today, the reviews and blogs might be a bit simple and short but stay tune for more in depth and detailed reviews (maybe some swatches as well) in the future.

Cheers,
Chip
